For my very first post, I feel its only right to start with my very first cake.

Last night I was going through some really old pics on my computer, when I stumbled upon the very first cake I ever presented outside of my kitchen. I clearly remember the occasion – the Singapore Cricket Club soccer team Christmas party at the Beaufort Hotel in Singapore 7 years ago – and it was for 3 of the footballers who shared their birthdays, including my now husband. So as you can imagine, there was a little pressure to make a nice homemade cake for the occasion. I recall that I made this from two Betty Crocker cake mixes and the pre-made frosting in the tub dyed in neon green. I was so darn proud of that beauty and I couldn’t wait to share it with everyone. Well all I can say is that, it doesn’t matter how a cake looks or tastes in the end, what matters most is the heart of the baker. This is what drives my passion – bringing joy to people through my cakes.

Since that day, I haven’t stopped baking but I hope my cake today tastes and looks much better than my first!
